How does the New York times handle journalism coverage in china

 The study the article is focusing on is investigating the use of political keywords the New York Times decided to use when covering stories in China between 1980 and 2020. The article finds that the newspaper primarily focused on economic and financial coverage, but ultimately majority of the coverage was overshadowed by the negative sentiment on territorial issues. This created a profile that the New York Times views China as a self-interested perspective. This is giving minor insight to national and international news coverage.

Since 1978, China has consistently emphasized the importance of stability in its political discourse. The term "stability" is often used alongside other words to describe the fundamentals of a decent life, such as a peaceful existence, a functioning legal system, economic prosperity, and opportunities for personal and social advancement. This tradition is deeply rooted in China's traditional political philosophies, which emphasize the right to rule and the ethics of governance. 

China's internal stability has been a complex issue so the New York Times addressing it is not something new, recently with leaders facing the law stability paradox. To address this, scholars have suggested a transition from rigid to resilient stability, a more equitable social system, that should help increase government support for political participation. 

Academic studies have extensively examined media representations of China, analyzing their positive, neutral, or negative portrayal over time. These studies use qualitative or quantitative methods to analyze media texts and their language patterns. The US national media has consistently portrayed China negatively over the past twenty years, with little to no positive coverage. The media's coverage of the Hong Kong activists' fight for independence and the COVID-19 pandemic also tended to portray China as a cultural and place blame. I can say that as an American I did believe blogs and what I believed to be credible sources in the coverage of COVID-19 and China's involvement. 

My question is why does China hold the U.S opinion to such high standards. Were nosey it's simple honestly when something bad is happening we have a lot to talk about. A lot of blame to face and jokes to be made but when something is going good why would American's care to know. Yet alone about positivity in another country unless it benefits the U.S.
