State to State with Roe vs Wade next stop Idaho
The U.S supreme court overturned Roe vs Wade back in June 2022. The gut wrenching decision banned the right to abortion. Idaho is a very conservative state, The Alliance Defending Freedom has asked the supreme court to allow a law that penalizes those who provide abortions.
Doctors have criticized Idaho's near-total abortion ban, which allows abortion only to save a pregnant woman's life; this is very vague and ignores the complexities of pregnancy. Idaho was sued by the Justice Department in August 2022, claiming it violated the federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act. A federal district judge sided with the Biden administration, blocking the provisions of the ban that contradict the labor act, making abortion treatment illegal regardless of the patient's condition.
I stand firmly in being Pro choice. It is your decision to do whatever you want with your body yet conservatives have the need to want to control everything. The Biden administration is trying their best to uphold the Labor Act but is repeatedly being met with backfire from the opposing side.A federal court judge last year ruled to block the Biden administration from enforcing its Emtala guidance in Texas. These conservative states are promoting a war on women's rights.
The Supreme court is going to have to eventually do something but will it be the humane thing to do? What actually is humane to the world these days.. It is getting harder and harder for women to fight for their rights because they are constantly being taken advantage of. The overturn on Roe vs Wade to abolish slavery is a direct hit on healthcare workers, women and children.
Lawsuits will continue to brew throughout the United States today because Women are dying at the hands of these conservative gangs. “Can you draw a line between abortions that are medically necessary and ones that aren’t? Is that even possible? And if you could draw a line, who gets to draw the line?” Grossman said”The problem with the laws being presented is they have no baseline for caring about the Health of women. The thought of a doctor having to chose to let a patient live or die is insane when we have preventative measures we can take regarding women's reproductive rights.
A change is coming and a change is needed.
